Ko Samui

Thailand

Destination

Ko Samui, Thailand

Ko Samui (or Koh Samui) is an island off the east coast of the Kra Isthmus, Thailand. Geographically in the Chumphon Archipelago, it is part of Surat Thani Province, though as of 2012, Ko Samui was granted Municipality status and thus is now locally self-governing. Ko Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island after Phuket, with an area of 228.7 km2, a population of over 63,000.  Abundant tourist resources, white sand beaches, coral reefs, and coconut trees are present on the island.

SAMUJANA’s name comes from the blend of Koh ‘Samui’ and the word ‘Jana’, meaning coral in Moroccan, due to its stunning hillside location overlooking a coral cove, with private beach access and uninterrupted views of Samui.

Samujana prides itself on providing an unparalleled luxury experience with our motto being, “Your Place. Your Time.” With private chefs, on site hosts, state-of-the art leisure facilities and the latest in audio and media amenities, your private villa is your home away from home.

For fun beyond our villas, Samujana offers an extensive range of land and water experiences. From boating excursions on our private sailboat to chauffeured tours of the beautiful island and waterfalls, our hosts will help curate a bespoke adventure for you and your guests.

Our Story

In the summer of 2004, Missy was home in Hilo for her summer break at Loyola Marymount University and Jon was attending pre-requite courses for physical therapy school.

We both enjoy staying active, including playing tennis, hiking, traveling, beaches and sunsets, and of course…gym! Maybe Jon more than Missy…We both caught each other’s eye and started our journey together.

Missy eventually returned back to LA and Jon stayed back in Hilo, but as the saying goes “love has a way.” We both endured a long distance relationship for several years, which included 6 years of Missy and Jon receiving their doctorate degrees.

Jon eventually moved back to Honolulu in 2011, right before Missy started her grueling 4 years of residency.

After 12 years, Jon proposed to Missy on a trip to Iceland, during a sunset in a small town with Kirkjufell mountain the backdrop.

Message From The Bride & Groom

All our love,
